Thank you so much. For reading and for writing so many beautiful and resonant things as well. 💙

Um if you're writing the same essay over and over, I still want to read all of them! The way you connect nature, ritual, and spirituality never fails to inspire me.

Thank you so much for this, LIndsey. Like Katharine, I'm actually happy if you're writing the same essay over and over! (Also, I always feel the same.) Reading this nearly a week after the election, I feel more grounded if not more hopeful. Here, in your noticing, in your love of Moon and kinship with Owl, is the beginning of our work.

I’m carrying words from the ancestors around with me - poems, quotes from James Baldwin - to anchor me when my thoughts start to swirl. Also your ancestors words and presence that you’ve generously shared with us! Feeling sturdy and tired, but surrounded by love.

James Baldwin keeps coming up more and more for me the past couple years, too. Lucky to have had someone like him in our world.

“Sturdy and tired but sorrounded by love” actually sounds like a beautiful wish for all of us.

This is just so beautiful. What a breathtaking ending. Agree with the chorus: keep beating your wings, keep recording your walk on the earth for us. You are the owl in the tree <3

Reading this I kept thinking about how generous nature—Earth—is. It always feels like the world is ending, but she gives daily so lavishly—sunsets, owls (an owl! How cool!). I think spending more time noticing her gifts than we do following the discourse is a good idea. Thanks for writing us, again, from your lovely alter.

Thank you, Shaina 💞 she is so lavish and generous. I had plans to read more kimmerer this year and this comment is reminding me to do that! I hope you’re finding some solid ground right now for yourself and your family. 🙏🏽
