“Mundane and tender” is such a perfect description of Ann Patchett. I hadn’t thought of those words before but that’s exactly how I feel slipping into her books.

“I watch it with my kids surrounding me on the couch and cry my eyes out, in a good way.” YES. We watched it this weekend! Or the first half. We are such lightweights we have to break up the longer ones, lol. Love your list of taking care. Loved this whole post. 🐇 Also yes to a childhood turkey?!

I love that you watched it this week!! It is our New Year’s Eve movie 🩷🩷

They sort of terrified me as a kid, 🦃 but we jokingly called him our watch-turkey because he would charge at anyone who came on our property 😂

Lol, oh no! they are so big, I can see it not being fun to be level with one. Especially one with a territorial streak. I also had a dearth of sisters in my life. Does a number on the brain 👯‍♀️✨ ps I loved how you said the beautiful parts of the past nourish you too💞

I just finished Tom Lake! And I had no idea Meryl narrated the audiobook when I “cast” Meryl as Lara in my head! That is wild. Totally agree, it was just the book I needed and I didn’t want it to end. I’m glad you’re finding comfort in simple joys.
