I really identify with the inner hoarding versus white knuckle approach (I often call it trying to “good mother” my way through the crises, which always ends very badly). And the creative process of opening the fist, offering and receiving. This month I picked up embroidery as a brand new hobby, to help me stay present while my daughter needs me beside her, or when she engages me in the same scripted pretend play repeatedly all day. It’s so much easier on my soul if I’m embroidering through the repetitive engagements. It’s just one of those creative third ways that open up.
"The four of pentacles is a card about wealth and resources and boundaries. The comedy is that, for me personally, this card often represents scarcity"
I'd be curious to hear more about how you interpret the cards. Is it based on personal experiences? (I'm still learning tarot)
My favorite pods are “between the worlds” and “tarot for the wild soul” - Lindsay Mack’s philosophy is called tarot anchoring and gave me the framework for each card being supportive/medicine instead of having some cards that I dread pulling. Does that make sense?
It’s sort of a mix - I read the little book that comes with the deck and I also have a few podcasts that I’ll listen to for specific cards, and then the more I pull it I start to see patterns or themes. I generally tend to think of the cards as only for my good and giving a sort of medicine for the situation and that’s the lens that I interpret them with.
Love the Bingo tent just hanging out in the house! Today I work in the classroom and have a parent meeting later in the evening so I will be trying out your visualization of holding coins in the palm of my hand :)
Sigh. Your writing is always a soothing balm. I love the coziness of your home, and feel your inner struggle deeply! (High five / hi, Five!). Love the Rumi quote, and the idea of holding all those gold coins loosely. Here's to hoping the cold cold cold weather is on its way for quite some time!
Thank you for sharing this little window into your world, I thorough enjoyed reading it - from my cosy fireside to yours. I hope it thaws a little and balance is restored soon enough ❄️🔥
“Do not consider what strangers say.” Ahhhh so good. A fire on top of a fire 🔥🔥 SO GOOD. Have you seen this book: A Bathroom Book for People Not Pooping or Peeing But Using the Bathroom as an Escape? I feel like I’ve mentioned it before…haven’t read it but it made me laugh so hard when I saw it at our local bookstore. Why doesn’t it live in my bathroom??? Also love that Gollum joke! 👏 Hard relate to this and lol calming the chaos 💞💞💞

Yes, my spouse got it out to put in the donation bin but my kids saw it first 😂😂 so it became the snow day hiding spot
Less hoarding less hoarding less hoarding. Okay… I’ll try ;)
